The holidays are here! Holiday cheer is consuming Radio advertising with 41% of occurrences having a holiday theme. Television has a much smaller share with only 23% of occurrences having a holiday theme.  

Spence Diamonds Jewellery Stores takes the overall top holiday advertiser spot on radio, taking a spot in top 10 in 5 cities. 

Shoppers Drug Mart is the second biggest holiday advertiser on Radio, also taking a spot in the top 10 in 5 cities. 

Mark’s Work Wearhouse takes the third spot overall, sitting in the top 10 in 6 cities.

Quick Serve Restaurants continue to lead holiday-themed advertising on Television with 11% share; 2 of the top 10 spots on TV  belong to this category, Tim Horton’s Coffee Shops and Mcdonald’s Restaurants

Leon’s Furniture Stores dominates the Furniture Store category on TV with a staggering 77% share. Overall, the Furniture Stores took the third spot this week with 6% category share. This is quite a jump compared to 2 weeks prior where Furniture Stores did not place in the top 10 categories on TV. 

Amazon.ca and Walmart Stores continue to be big players in the Department Stores category. This cateogry lost some share this week representing 9% overall, this is down from 12% two weeks prior.

The Dining category is in the fourth position where Swiss Chalet Restaurants’ Festive Special campaign represents 55% share.

Swiss Chalet Restaurants’ Festive Special campaign moves up 2 spots this week and reigns supreme in the Dining category representing 56% share.
