Jewelry Stores dominated Radio advertising with an impressive 51% share on radio. Within this category, Spence Diamonds represented a whopping 84% share, followed by Charm Diamond Centres (4%) and Pandora Jewelry (3%). 

The second-place category had a 6% share, represented by Spa Services. The top 3 advertisers in this category were Strom Spa (38% share), Bota Bota (21% share), and Body Polish Day Spa (15% share). 

Sex Related Stores took the third place category with a 5% share. This category was competitive with 12 advertisers having Valentine’s Day-themed campaigns. Sensations Plus took first place with a 19% share, followed closely by Boutique Erotique au 7ieme Ciel with a 17% share. Adult Fun Superstore landed in third place with an 11% share.

 

Valentine’s Day advertising on Television

Television had considerably fewer categories with Valentine’s Day theme advertising than Radio; Television had eight categories versus Radio’s 68 categories. 

Jewelry Stores continued their reign in first place with an incredible 70% share. Peoples Jewelers had a 52% category share, Pandora Jewelry came in second place with 45%, and Charm Diamond Centres had a 3% share.

The second place category went to Quick Serve Restaurants with a 23% share. Dairy Queen took a 100% share of this category with their campaign featuring specialty Valentine’s Day cakes. 

Movie Trailers scored third place with a 3% share thanks to Magic Mike’s Last Dance movie campaign announcing the theatre release on Valentine’s Day weekend.
